Membership Information
MEETINGS:

Our monthly meetings are held the third Monday of each month at Faith Lutheran Church at 1:00 p.m. in January, March , May, July, September and November; and at 7:00 p.m. in February, April, June, August, October, and December. Board meetings are held at 11:45 a.m. prior to the 1:00 p.m. meetings and at 5:45 p.m. prior to the 7:00 p.m. meetings.

Workdays are held every Tuesday at the church. They are times to get acquainted, learn new techniques, exchange ideas and work on individual projects. Workdays begin around 9:30 a.m. and last until 1:30 p.m. or so. Coffee is provided; you may bring a snack or dessert if you would like, but it is not required.

For those who prefer evenings, members also meet at the Journey Museum every Tuesday from 5:00-8:30 p.m. Attendees are asked to contribute $1.00 each workday/night to help defray the cost of the room.

Dues are due on January 1 of each year, with one month’s grace allowed. The membership year shall run from January 1 to December 31. Any member not having paid dues by February 1 will be dropped from the membership roster. First year dues paid by new members joining the Guild between January 1 and June 30 are $15.00. Many area quilt shops offer discounts to Guild members. Just show your card and ask. Some are only on Tuesday as that is the usual workday. You receive free entrance into the quilt show with your card. Check out books from the BHQG Quilt Library in the Ben Franklin Store by showing your card at the cutting desk . Advance sign-up opportunities for classes at the retreat and other Guild functions.

STANDING RULES
  1. Dues are due on January 1, with one month’s grace period allowed. The membership year shall run from January 1 to December 31. Dues paid by “new members” from July 1 through December 31 are $7.50. Dues for “past members,” either paying late or rejoining, will be $15.00.

  2.
  3. Anyone who has been a member for 10, 20, or 30 consecutive years will receive a pin signifying that length of membership.

  6.
  7. Officers shall be chosen by a simple majority of the membership of the GUILD at the general meeting in June. Officers will terminate their duties at the end of the June meeting.

A Board of Directors meeting of the outgoing and incoming officers and committee chairpersons will be held on or about July 15th to transfer the books and properties to the new Board. The new Board of Directors will conduct the July meeting, as this is the start of the officers’ term.

  8.
  9. The Treasurer shall make a yearly report of the budget figures and expenditures to the Board of Directors to help determine the next year’s budget.

  10.
  11. The Treasurer’s books shall be audited every two years or at the change of the Treasurer. An Audit Committee of three people shall be appointed when needed.
